Bali Fab Fest is Southeast Asia's premier maker and digital fabrication festival — an annual gathering that brings together innovators, designers, artists, engineers, and makers from across the globe to collaborate, learn, and celebrate the culture of making.

Held at Fab Lab Bali in Jimbaran, each edition weaves together the beauty of Balinese culture with the energy of the international maker movement.

What Happens at Fab Fest

Workshops

Hands-on making sessions led by local and international makers. Learn CNC milling, biocomposite materials, electronics, natural dyes, traditional Balinese wood carving, and digital craft — all in one intense, joyful week.

Talks & Symposium

A curated programme of talks, panels, and presentations from leading voices in design, technology, ecology, and community innovation.

Open Making Days

The Fab Lab doors open to the public — anyone can come in, explore the machines, and start making. No experience required.

Community Projects

Each edition includes a community challenge — a real local problem that participants collaborate to solve using the tools and skills at hand. Past challenges have included water filtration systems, disaster relief shelters, and school furniture from local bamboo.

Cultural Exchange

Evening programmes celebrate Balinese tradition — dance performances, shadow puppet theatre, communal feasts, and ceremonies that connect the global maker community to the island's living culture.

Past Editions

Since 2014, Bali Fab Fest has grown from a small regional gathering to one of the most vibrant maker events in Asia. Past editions have featured participants from 52 countries and collaborations with MIT, IAAC, Autodesk, and dozens of Fab Labs worldwide.
